What Is PIA (Isophthalic Acid)?

Isophthalic Acid (PIA) is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid with two carboxyl (–COOH) groups positioned in the meta-configuration on a benzene ring.
With the chemical formula C₈H₆O₄, PIA is a key raw material used in high-performance polyester resins, PET modification, coating resins, and composite systems.
